Our Story
Vidarbha Golf Association was incorporated in the year 1997 ON 25TH November, with 15 members who joined hands together with a basic purpose of promoting Golf in and around Nagpur. The Association was revived in the year 2016 with formation of a new Management Committee of 15 members under the Presidentship of Govindlal Ji Aggrawal.
Our Mission
- To promote and develop Sports Tourism, through sporting activities in particular GOLF.
To create foster and maintain friendly and cordial relationships amongst Golfers through Golf Tournaments and competitions connected therewith and to create a healthy spirit in the country through the medium of sports in general and Golf in particular.
To arrange, regulate, and sponsor visits of sports teams and sponsorship of tournaments.
To select individuals and teams to represent the association in any golf tournaments, championships of fixtures, local, interstate, national or otherwise.
To maintain a Golf course as far as possible up to international standard in Nagpur and other places open to members and outsiders, on payment of green fees as decided by the Managing Committee from time to time.
To construct and maintain a clubhouse at the Golf course with residential facilities as far as possible up to international standard for visiting golfers and others, on payment of fees as decided by the Managing Committee from time to time.
Our Objectives
- To arrange and manage among other things league or any other tournaments.
To control, regulate, help, encourage, promote and develop the game of golf in area under jurisdiction and manage all tournaments and matches.
To make provision for coaching players in Sports activities in general and Golf in particular.
To publish journals devoted to sports in general and Golf in particular.
To maintain a library of books, periodicals and other literature on sports and Golf.
To collect funds for the purpose of the Association and utilize the same for the fulfillment of the objects of the Association and to take over the management of the Golf Course and other Sports activities as decided by the Managing Committee.
To purchase, take on lease, hire or otherwise acquire any movable and or immovable property, rights or privileges necessary or convenient for the purpose of carrying out the objects of the Association.
- To sell, mortgage, exchange, dispose off or otherwise deal with all or any part of the property or funds in the interest and for the benefit of the Association and also to borrow money from banks, individuals, corporate bodies or any other source for fulfilling the objects of the Association.
To create catering facilities for the benefits of the members and their guests, on payment.
To prepare and maintain a ranking list of Golf players and allot handicaps to the individual players of the Association.
- To affiliate the Association to the Indian Golf Union or any other Golf Association in India or abroad.
